Hanyang Liu
As an artist, Hanyang has personally reaffirmed that the greatest art pieces have pushed boundaries, contested institutional rules, and set a new benchmark for aesthetic standards. This has sparked Hanyang's intellectual curiosity about metaphysical nothingness as an art form; furthermore, it made the premise of his dissertations. Being able to visually represent metaphysical nothingness is perhaps an epitome of innovation itself. At the same time it is evident in the contemporary but also in the conventional art form as one can identify its core elements in ancient Zen paintings.
The focus of Hanyang's artistic practices is essentially representations of his empirical life at the same time resonate with some of the core principles of Buddhist philosophy multi-media forms, which remains another integral source of inspiration for many of his works.
